"Don't you dare disturb me. Don't complicate my piece of mind." - Elliot Smith

Yes, I know. I look like I'm squatting to pee or laying an egg in those first two photos, but how else you gonna sit on a cement block? It's like a requirement or something to sit like a dude. Whatever, I think these photos look cool. I like the contrast of the drab building with the vibrancy of my clothing. You can thank Jerry for this location. He has been wanting to take pictures inside this abandoned building since he discovered it.

It all started a few weeks ago when we were taking pictures by the wall outside this old building, and Jerry noticed a door was cracked open. He stopped in the middle of our photo shoot to check out what was inside. Suddenly, he became all excited and started going on and on about the lighting. Jerry gets as excited about lighting as I do about a new item from Anthro. Anyway, he managed to coax me inside against my better judgement, but I started hearing weird creaks and other strange noises and got the fuck out of Dodge. I mean, it's not like we're dealing with just ghosts here. This is a bad part of town. There could be some homeless person hiding out in there or some drug dealing, gun-wielding thug. Of course, Jerry and I have been watching the first season of "The Wire" the past couple of weeks (I've seen it before, he hasn't), so I'm probably paranoid where thugs are concerned. However, I don't exactly feel safe when the building next door has the words "Bloody Cunt" along with a disturbingly descriptive drawing spray painted on it.

Speaking of bloody cunt, I'm wearing my bright red corduroy's today. And there goes the rest of my readers... Sorry, that's just where my disturbed mind went. Let's move on, shall we? So, I'm wearing my red cords and a new top that I got on sale from Anthro, and yes, I'm hanging out in the scary building. Jerry managed to convince me (trick me) into giving the building another go. Thankfully, neither one of us got a cap popped in our ass.

I was inspired by the catalog shot of this top to pair it with red cords. In fact, I purchased these cords specifically to go with this top. However, I think the cords will go with many other things in my closet. The top will definitely work with other pieces in my wardrobe since it has so many vibrant colors in it and that Native American vibe that I've been digging lately.

So, I mentioned above about losing the rest of my readers. I'm not really worried about that. I mean, if I haven't offended you by now, I think you are in it for the long haul. It's funny because I have had around 350 followers for what seems like over a year now. I must have broken some kind of record for follower stagnation. I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks to the 350. You inspire me to keep writing this introspective and often depressing blog with a little bit of fashion and vulgarity thrown in for good measure.

P.S. I watched this before I wrote this blog. I think it may have had a bad influence.

  1. Bwahahahaha!!! This post killed me-I love it that you "go there." It's one of the things that keep me coming back. I love that you're real and not just modelling clothing. And I could totally copy this outfit if I could ever fit my Plus-5 pounds ass into my skinny red jeans I bought last season 5 pounds ago. Although 10 pounds would be better. Boo!!!!

  2. I love that top. Might have to order it myself! And...it looks great with the cords.

  3. The outfit is cute but i definitely couldn't pull it off!
The danger of entering an abandoned building and not knowing who or what might be lurking in there is half the fun, isn't it? He was right though, the lighting is great and you look gorgeous as usual.

  4. Whew! I was more scared of you guys' reaction to this post than I was of the thugs. LOL! I had to "go there", though. Just like the title says, I really did go with the flow in more ways than one. Believe me, I did not sit down at the computer and say, "I think I'll talk about bloody cunts today." That's just where it went while writing this post. I'm so relieved that at least one person found the humor in it. Thanks, Kristin!

Oh, and I have plenty of pants that I can't fit my fat ass into right now. I had to get these in a size 12. Of course, many people say they run 2 sizes big. Still, it messes with you psychologically when you go up 2 sizes. I could stand to lose 10 pounds myself, but that ice cream at night while I'm watching "The Wire" sho' is good! :-)

  5. Oh, I bet you could pull it off, especially with that new orange hair of yours!

Hmm...fun. Yeah, I guess you're right, as long as no one gets got.

I'm glad he got to work with the good lighting. It was worth the risk to see him so happy. I even got a shot of him. Why yes, that is my hunk of man meat. ;-)

  6. The red pants are phenomenal!! These pics are very edgy. I would have been way too timid to venture into an abandoned building!
