"Why's it surreal when my hands feel they can't roll the dice?
Why's it so great just to wake every day, alive and by your side." - My Morning Jacket
What a weird couple of days it has been. After taking the day off work on Wednesday, I came back to what has seemed like an alternate reality at work. There's been some strange happenings, people have acted weird, and then today all the forces of office evil collided to create the perfect storm. I think all the stress has gotten to me. I've been having a weird floating feeling off and on all day. It's days like these that really make you appreciate the relaxing times.
Wednesday was a glorious day. The boyfriend and I took the day off and drove to Raleigh for some Anthro shopping, art appreciation, and a Gillian Welch concert. I added many new items to my Anthro wishlist and did some reviews for you guys. Then, we went to the museum of art and walked around for awhile. I was so excited that "The Thinker" by Rodin was there. I thought it was "the one" sculpted by the man himself. Silly me. Upon closer inspection of the sign, I read that it was cast in 1980. I felt like an idiot for rubbing all over the poor statue man saying to myself, "I'm touching the same statue Rodin touched so many years ago." I do have one question about The Thinker. What is up with his hair? He was definitely having a bad hair day.
We topped the day off with an awesome concert by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. As I sat beside the love of my life listening to the beautiful music, I felt so incredibly happy. It's the little things that matter so much, and my man is really good at the little things. He always makes my bad days better. After hearing about my day at work, he brought me a chocolate milkshake. It's so nice to have someone in my life who can take all the stress away with just a simple act. I am living in an alternate reality because this is the life of my dreams.

I normally think of outfit details in terms embellishments and accessories. But this outfit has a special detail that you so carefully point out in one of the photos. The Ruffles draped over top of the Snake Bite Belt. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe Mossy Atoms Skirt is one Corey Lynn Calter I should have paid attention to. She has become my favorite dress designer lately.
Mr. Photographer has made exceptional use of the Window behind you. The way he captured the reflections in the glass. That doesn't happen by accident. The 2nd to the last photo looks like the Window is a Painting.
It's good to hear that you are having good days. I hope you continue to have more of those, as you put the bad days behind you.
Gorgeous and yet effortless-looking outfit - hit the nail on the head with that one, Bonnie! I agree with Laura, those photos are really wonderful - the window is captured perfectly. What a great team the two of you make!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the drama at work, Bonnie? That can't be fun. Shake it off! Doesn't matter in the long run.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt! Stop the wall hugging though! ;).
Did you pick up any goodies on your trip? Also, I've been meaning to ask you- do you ever shop Modcloth? And how hard is it to sell stuff on eBay. I've got a lot of cute stuff from Boden of my daughter's that I am thinking about trying to sell someplace other than Once Upon a Child.
I'm interested in hearing about your eBay experience too. I've been cosigning in a local store, but the owner takes 60 percent. :/
ReplyDeleteLaura: You are too sweet! Thanks for your kind words! You're right, Mr. Photographer did spend alot of time trying to capture the reflections in the window.
ReplyDeleteTracy: Thanks! We do make a great team. We even have a nickname for ourselves - The Dastardly Duo! LOL!
Catherine: Why yes, I did pick up 1 goodie on my trip. All will be revealed in due time... No, I've never bought anything from Modcloth. I've browsed their site from time to time, but the prices seem almost as expensive as Anthro. I really like Ruche, though. They have Anthro-esque stuff with cheap prices. It's actually pretty easy to sell my stuff on Ebay. I sold all 12 items I put up there during my last auction. I prefer to sell it on my blog if I can because I get all the profits. Ebay and Paypal both get a cut when I sell on Ebay, but it's not that expensive, especially lately since it hasn't been charging listing fees. Here's a link to the in's and out's of buying and selling on Ebay:
