"Under the Autumn tree..." - Milo Greene

With it being the middle of November and all, I thought it was time for the obligatory Fall leaves post. I feel like I'm pretty late to the game here compared to all the other fashion bloggers. It seems like their Fall leaves posts starting pouring in months ago. The truth is the leaves have just peaked this week in my neck of the woods, especially on my favorite Fall tree, the Gingko.

Gingko's have long been my favorite tree to admire in the Fall. Their bright yellow, fan-shaped leaves are seriously breathtaking and unique. I even have a X-rayed print of the leaves above my bed (that's X-rayed not X-rated. Get your mind out of the gutter!). However, I didn't really know much about them until I decided to Google them today. These are some seriously amazing trees. They are what's known as living fossils, which basically means they've been around forever. They are slow growing but have really long life spans. There are Gingko's in China that are over 2,500 years old. I also learned that the one I'm posing with here is a female, since the female trees bear a really stinky fruit. For a moment during the shoot, I could have sworn I had dog poop on my boot. I even had Jerry check for me. Nope, turns out it was just the smell of your typical stinky female Gingko fruit.

Well, now that we've gotten the educational segment and poop mention out of the way, let's talk about my outfit. I picked up this peasant top on sale last week. I love the colors in this one, and I can see it going nicely with many different things in my closet. For it's first time out, I decided to wear it with my teal AG Stevie's and Frye boots. I really like the way this outfit turned out. Although, I do wish the AG's didn't bunch quite so much at the knees.

I'm pretty sure it's some kind of blogging blasphemy not to post a "throwing of the Fall leaves" photo, but I decided to shake things up this year. Blogs are full of familiar poses such as the "broken doll", the pigeon-toed stance, and my all time favorite, the hugging of inanimate objects. I wanted to give my readers something different. May I present a blogging first, the "hanging from a tree" pose. Eat your hearts out, blogger bitches! ;-)

  1. Tree Hugger!!! Speaking of hugging inanimate objects - You know what's super annoying? Flying out of Savannah with a plane full of hipster art students from SCAD hugging their creepy hand made teddybears and yammering on non-stop about Project Runway! lol
