"With hell on your face, dirt on the walls, in the back of the place, you grew and complained." - Horse Feathers

Yes, I'm wearing a braid again. No, I don't care. I've had a horrible cold, and it's been hot and miserably humid the last few days. Also, I'm on the last book in the "The Hunger Games" trilogy, so I guess I'm in full on Katniss mode. Too bad I don't have someone like Cinna to design beautiful outfits for me. However, I was gifted this beautiful lace top/floral tank ensemble by Oasap.com. I must confess I had a more difficult time picking something out this time around. The "one size" thing really scares me. Fortunately, Oasap provides measurements on their website, so I was able to get a good idea of what I could fit into.

Don't you hate it when you have a bad weekend? It's like you get so little free time as it is that it's such a shame when that free time is spent in misery. I came down with a bad cold on Saturday and didn't feel well at all. It's like my kids could smell that I wasn't on top of my game, because they decided to act out at unprecedented levels. Add to the mix a hot, tired Jerry battling poison ivy all day, and I had myself a bad weekend.

It's funny how you think a new house is going to solve all of your problems, but then you find out very quickly that's not the case. You just get new problems on top of some of the ones you had already. It's so easy to get caught up in the stress of getting everything done right away. I think it's really important to sit back and get some perspective. It's just a faucet, or an outlet, or some poison ivy. It's not the end of the world if it isn't fixed right away. Besides, these down times of quiet reflection have been the best ones in the house so far, just sitting on the front porch swing with Jerry enjoying the peace and quiet of our country home.

"Happiness is a butterfly which, when pursued, is always just beyond our grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you." - Nathaniel Hawthorne

  1. Love this outfit! That last picture is especially beautiful. I love how you layered the floral tank under the lace, it's a subtle, pretty way to mix print and texture. And good for you two for taking the time to keep things in perspective. Hope your week is going better than your weekend!

  2. I like the braid! Sorry you weren't feeling well this weekend! How are you liking the last book of "The Hunger Games" series? I didn't like the last one as much. My 10-year old is reading the first one right now (or was until summer break from school started...now he's too busy playing outside). My husband thought the concept behind those books was too dark for him. They were really good reads though (well, maybe not the third one), strangely enough! I'm still wondering how they were able to make it into a movie.

Love the lace top! And it was fun seeing your little town from the road this weekend! ;)
