"Even from away he is near me, making me unendingly teary. Makes me remember the things that I forgot. It's as much what it is as what it is not. In a room sleeping so peacefully...All we need is a horizon line, get some clarity following signs. First light was, last light was alright when the circle married the line." - Feist

It's been a rough day. I've come to expect it from Monday's, but this one has been particularly bad. Some days it feels like it's Jerry and I against the world. However, our bad day was bookended by a good beginning and a good ending inspired by the horizon.

The morning started with a spectacular sunrise. As I was stirring in bed, Jerry opened the blinds and pointed it out to me. It was still dark outside. The only light was on the horizon line. It was the most beautiful shade of orange silhouetted by the trees. It's the start of my week without the kids, so I was feeling pretty down when I woke up, but this beautiful sunrise made getting up on this Monday morning much easier. We talked and laughed until the sun rose over the trees and spilled into our window. In the light of day, reality set in, and we started getting ready for work.

After a long day at work, Jerry and I went out in a harvested corn field to get some photos of my new dress. It was the perfect temperature outside, and our background was a gorgeous Fall sunset. Once again, I found myself looking at the beautiful horizon and finding clarity and peace in an otherwise confusing and chaotic day. We got some great photos and kissed as the sun disappeared behind the trees.

With all the adversity going on in our lives right now, it's so easy for Jerry and I to get discouraged in the middle of our day. We feel very much misunderstood and down right discriminated against. Our time together makes it all worth it. Whatever may happen, I know everything will be alright as long as we have each other.
