Anthropologie Fitting Room Reviews

Well, I'm finally getting around to posting these reviews. Like I said, it seemed like I took the whole store back with me, but these are the only pictures that came out of it. Weird how that works. So, without futher ado, here are the latest round of fitting room reviews. Oh, and don't you dare laugh at my pretty black knee highs! LOL!

Powdered Pigment Dress ($228). This is not something I would typically try on, but the SA brought it back for me, so I thought, why not? Actually, the shape of the dress is very flattering on my body, but the print is a little too loud for my taste. I love the cut out in the back! This is a size 6. It was a perfect fit. However, it's too pricey and not really my style.

De Chelly Dress ($168). I thought this was a cute, retro-inspired little dress, so I decided to give it a try. I grabbed a size 8, my usual size in Maeve. It fit perfect, but I can't even think about buying a dress like this until it gets warmer.

Doyle's Desk Tunic ($98). Man, this top runs big. This is a 4, and I still had plenty of room. I kinda liked it, though. This would be great under a cardigan with skinny jeans and boots. Wishlisted for sale.

Pond Reflections Dress ($168). This pretty, summery dress caught my eye. I tried on a size 8 and it fit good. I had some room in it, so I might be able to size down to a 6. I would have to wear a cardigan with this since it is spaghetti straped. Again, I can't even think about purchasing a dress like this right now, but I'll keep it in mind once the weather warms up.

Soft-Structured Dress ($148). I've noticed alot of bloggers snatching this one up, so I couldn't wait to try it on for myself. This is a size small, and it was too tight. There were no mediums left in my store, so I still don't know if this one would work for me or not. I'm thinking it's not going to flatter my figure even in the larger size. I'll check back for a medium the next time I'm in a store.

Mellifluous Gathers Tee ($58). I was attracted to the color of this top. I really love this color green. Some people probably don't care for it and think it's pea soup green (as in the Exorcist). LOL! I don't care. I like it! This is a small. It fit good, but I think even at $58 it is too pricey for what it is. I have a pink top just like this that I got from The Limited a couple of years ago and it was only $20. Wishlisted for sale.

Mendoza Codex Skirt ($118). I noticed that I didn't have any skirts to try on, so I grabbed this one. This is another item that runs huge. This is a size 6, and I was swimming in it. It just didn't wow me. Pass.

IMAG0038

Not sure the proper name for this one. I know one incarnation was called the Illuminated Way Blouse. Anyway, there was this lone one sitting in the sale room in a size small. I tried it on and what do you know, I loved it. It was still a little pricey on sale, but with the 25% off, I ended up getting it for $50.

Hiking Ruffles Cardigan ($78). Then I tried this sweater on over it. With my allergy to wool, you know how I love me some cotton cardigans. This one was no exception. This is a size small. It is a open cardigan and doesn't have a closure. So, I felt it needed a belt.

IMAG0039

Oh, that's better! I purchased this belt on sale for $14.99. Sorry, but I don't know the name. It appears to be sold out online. It runs big. This is a small and I had to notch it almost all the way. I guess it was meant to be worn with pants. I like it like this, though.

IMAG0042

Kinda makes my butt look big from the side, but I don't care! I love it anyway! LOL!

Bonbon Cloche ($38). Why not add a hat in there too?

  6. Have I missed something - what's all this talk of shutting down?!

I think the blouse is the Sleeve Pitch blouse maybe?

Also, the Melifluos (spelling?!) gathers top - the colour looks great against your hair, that colour would be my choice too :)

  9. You look so great in the Hiking Ruffles and blouse you bought - love them together with the belt. I have the cardi in purple and never thought to try belting it, now I'm inspired! The De Chelly Dress is really pretty on you as well!

  14. I actually own the Mellifluous Tee in that green color and against my dark skin it looks great. I have it in black also. Works well under cardis. I agree that some of the dresses are lovely, but with snow on the ground her in the NY/NJ area again today, I also have no appetite for spring looks.

Glad to see you are still blogging. We are similarly shaped somewhat and it gives me a sense of what size to get for some things.

  15. Love the De Chelley dress, Bonnie, though it reminds me of the chocolate chip dress you posted earlier (which I am on the hunt for on ebay by the way thanks to you- love it!). The hat- your last review is adorable! Love it!

Have you found any recent good things at Ruche lately? The only thing I've had luck with so far was that peasant top you featured earlier. I ordered a tunic but it was just horrible- unfinished seams- bad. Had to send it back. Love the prices on that site though!

  16. Cathy: No, I haven't found anything good at Ruche lately. Nothing's caught my eye. I, too, have had to send some things back for quality reasons. I find it's hit or miss with that store, but I have gotten more hits than misses.
