Midnight's Spring and Falling Leaves

It was another cold one today! By cold, I mean in the 50's. I'm invisioning those of you that live in truly cold areas laughing at me right now... It was a damp cold - the kind of day where you just want to wrap up, drink hot chocolate, and read a good book. Instead, I had to work. At least I got alot accomplished and managed not to spill lunch on myself - big improvement over yesterday.

I had a hard time deciding what to wear today. The only new item that I haven't worn yet is the Midnight's Spring Cardigan that I got on sale a few weeks ago. As I was brushing my teeth I was thinking "hmm, what would look good with that?" I opened a drawer to get out my dental floss, and I saw my pretty Anthropologie flower hair pin. The outer color of the flower was the same color as the sweater in question, and the inside was a peachy color. I instantly knew what I wanted to wear with my new sweater - the J Crew Softspun Sunset dress. Inspired by a hair pin, who would have thunk it!

We took today's pictures in the front yard again. The leaves are starting to fall and they are just gorgeous. The light is quickly running out in the afternoons, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about outfit pictures in the coming weeks. My husband works in another town and leaves for work way earlier than me, so mornings are out. I guess I could get up earlier. I don't know if I'm that dedicated...Oh well, we'll see. Have a great night!

  2. Don't you just love this weather and all the leaves on the ground? It just looks amazing every morning when I step outside and I think it's so nice that you guys have so much land to overlook, it's always picturesque! By the way, we should make plans to meet up sometime. Last time we ran into each other, you totally caught me off-guard!!

  3. I love those moments when a color combination speaks to you from unexpected places! These pieces look made for each other.

I'm facing the same dilemma with outdoor pics. I've found myself falling a day behind with my postings due to timing of lighting, getting home from work, etc. My concern is the SNOW FALL! I'm going to see if I can brace myself for a few shots sans puffer coat, but I say that now...let's see what happens when it's 0 degrees!!

  4. I love the third shot with all the leaves on the ground. My whole town looks like that here now, so pretty (but dangerous for runners when they are soggy as I found out last night!)

Is that a red barn behind you in one shot? Can you shoot pics in there if it has lighting?

  5. Ady: Thanks! I try to change it up alot, so I don't get tired of one style.

Dea: I definitely want to meet up with you and Erin. Let's try to get together after you get back from your trip! I'll email you when I plan on coming into town.

Pamela: Wow! It would very difficult to do outfit pictures in snow. We hardly ever get snow here.

Louise: I love the way leaves look on the ground, but you're right, they are not so great when you are trying to walk or run through them. Yes, it's my dad's red barn. It is REALLY old and no it doesn't have any lighting. My dad has so many cool buidings and such, but he doesn't keep them up. It's really a shame!
