I got some more Anthro reviews for ya! AC was fixed today, but I still didn't try on any sweaters. I guess it is so hot outside, I'm not feeling the sweaters yet.
Mullany Dress. I LOVE this dress!! If I was a rich women it would be mine! Size 8 fits like a dream, and this is the most comfortable dressy dress I've ever had on my body. I actually did a twirl in the dressing room, and I'm not a twirily kinda gal!
Sugar-Coated Dress. Cute little dress but didn't fit me quite right. The bottom half looked great, it was perfect through the chest, but the upper arm and back portion was too big. This was a size 8.
Hanhaba Dress. I actually let out a little squeal when I saw this dress. I have been wanting to try it on, and specifically looked for it in the store yesterday but didn't see it. I think it is a interesting take on the little black dress. It fit wonderfully! This dress is comfortable and stylish. It also made me feel better about the Due East Scoopneck not working out yesterday. This is like the Due East but better because it is a dress. This is a small, so it runs large. I bought it!
Trickle Down Top. This runs big. I tried on a medium and it was a little roomy. I will consider this come sale time in a small.
Perennial Plot Shirt. This was SO pretty on the hanger, but not so much on me. The way it stuck out on the side made me look wide. It looked great from the side view, though. This is a small. Two Worlds Tee. This is another top that was just gorgeous on the hanger. I love the color and the lace details. On me, the fit just wasn't quite right. I found that this top runs small. This is a large.
Bianka Blouse. I must have this shirt! I absolutely love it! The print is gorgeous and the fit is great! This is a size 8. I think it would look banging in the fall with skinny jeans and boots. I thought this top was going to be really expensive, but it is $68. I think that is a great price for this blouse. I'm thinking of going back tomorrow and getting it. My husband will probably kill me, but it might be worth it! LOL!
2. Are you a morning or night person? Definitely night. I have a heart murmur, so I don't drink caffeine - it gives me palpitations. So, it takes me a while to get going in the morning.
Switching gears, Jenny at Not Just a Pretty Face and Erin at Designer Me tagged me to answer some questions, so here it goes:
Here are Erin's questions for me:
1. If your life was a movie, what movie would it be? I couldn't think of anything, so I decided to change it too what movie I would like my life to be. Pride and Prejudice. I would love to wear those beautiful dresses and live in those fabulous houses! And Mr. Darcy(aka my husband) could come sweep me off my feet!
2. Are you a morning or night person? Definitely night. I have a heart murmur, so I don't drink caffeine - it gives me palpitations. So, it takes me a while to get going in the morning.
3. What's the first thing you would do if you won the lottery? Go shopping at Anthropologie - Duh!
4. If you could see any concert ever, what would it be? Death Cab for Cutie - I never get tired of seeing them live!
5. Are you a sweet or salty food person? Sweet
6. What is your favorite clothing purchase you've ever made? I can't possibly narrow it down to just one. Sorry!
7. What is your favorite quote? Can be inspirational, funny, from a book, etc!
"Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love...Which alters when it alteration finds,Or bends with the remover to remove:O no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark,Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved,I never writ, nor no man ever loved." -William Shakespeare
8. What's your dream job? Stylist
Now, here are Jenny's questions for me:
1. The line from any song that always "gets you". I.e. makes you smile, tear up, feel some emotion, etc. "I need you so much closer." from Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie
The way Ben Gibbard keeps repeating it over and over again with such emotion - it gives me chills just thinking about it!
2. If you could choose any other name than your own, what would you choose? Reese - it's my little girl's middle name.
3. Everyone has their hang-ups and being able to admit those, I think, shows a sign of strength and not weakness. What is your biggest weakness and what do you do to work on it? Shopping is my biggest weakness. I'm so addicted to it, I spend money that I don't have. I try to tell myself that buying a item will only make me happy temporarily, and I need to focus on the more important things in life, like my family.
4. On the other side- what's your most positive attribute? I don't ever give up on anything. I think this is what makes me a good programmer. I will not give up until I find a way to do something.
5. The one celebrity who annoys you to NO end! (I stole this one from Kathleen's questions, but I'm curious to hear what others think!) Jenny, I with you on this one. I can't stand Zooey Deschanel. Even her name gets on my nerves. Plus it doesn't help that she married the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Gibbard. He's mine! LOL!
6. If you could dedicate a songto anyone right, now what would that song be and to whom? "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" - Death Cab for Cutie to my husband.
7. If you could own one memorabilia item from the set of ANY movie, what would that item be? This is a hard one. I think it would be cool to own the radio that John Cusack holds up in that movie "Say Anything." It reminds me of the 80's, I love that Peter Gabriel song, and I always wished a boy would do that to me - cheesy, I know!
8. If you were forced to be addicted to ONE thing- what would you hope that thing would be? Shopping, of course!
Great reviews. Love the Mullany dress on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for these great reviews - I can't believe the store has so much new stuff! I must go this weekend :) and PLEASE go back and get the Bianka Blouse! Girl, that is your shirt!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your answers to all the questions! thanks so much for playing along!!
SO glad you played along and love your reviews. Is this the DC store in Georgetown? I lived in DC for 6 months and miss it terribly. Their Anthro store is a pain to get to but it's HUGE!
ReplyDeleteGreat reviews! The Mullany dress is adorable on you! You're right, it's definitely a twirly dress. :-) It was fun reading your answers to the questions. I'm with you on loving Pride & Prejudice. In fact, I'm actually rereading it again right now! Which movie version did you like better?
ReplyDeleteSara: Thanks! Maybe I can get it on sale.
ReplyDeleteErin: Thanks for the questions. It was fun! I've made of my mind - I'm getting the Bianka Blouse tomorrow!
Jenny: Great questions! No, this is the store in Reston, VA.
Debbie: Thanks! I actually like the new version better. It is such a beautiful movie and Matthew McFadyen as Mr. Darcy makes me weak in the knees. I also love Kiera Knightly. The scene in the rain when he declares his love for Elizabeth takes my breath away. Also, the last scene when he is walking across the field at sunrise gives me chills everytime! The music in that movie is also really good. My mom prefers the BBC version with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. He just doesn't do it for me.
Ok, loving all these great reviews from the past few days!! The Hanhaba dress is adorable on you and that Bianka blouse...oh my gosh, I NEED it! I've never noticed it before but it will be mine eventually, for sure! Maybe next month for my birthday. =) Glad you got to get away and visit Anthro a few times...always fun!!! Have a good rest of your trip!

Jenni: Thanks! The Bianka blouse if even more gorgeous in person! I highly recommend it. It's the perfect blouse for Fall! Also, I was shocked the price was so low for a blouse!
ReplyDeleteCassie: LOL! I wish Anthro would give me a commission! Get the blouse! You won't be disappointed!
Kelly: Thanks! You've never been to Anthro? OMG! I must take you one day! The closest one is in Durham. I love Shakespeare. I wanted to major in English in college just so I could take the Shakespeare courses. Better sense prevailed, though!
Great reviews! I am in love with the Bianca blouse in navy. I tried it on weeks ago before it was online and it's nice to see it in a different fabric. I might buy that one but I'm going to TRY to hold out for a sale....umm...might not be able to hold out though!
