"Oh my, we're beginning to blue." - Still Corners
I've noticed that I've been gravitating towards the color blue lately. In fact, after this last purchase of the Macrame Dress in blue, I'm staging a blue intervention. I've cut myself off from purchasing anything in that color for awhile. It shouldn't be too difficult since I've vowed to only buy things vacation related until our family vacation in September. Oh yeah, about that vacation...
I've decided to bite the financial bullet and take my kids to Disney World next month. It's expensive to do anything with three kids, and Disney is no exception. This is why I'm taking them in September - low prices. I'll have to pull them out of school for a couple of days (much to my mom's chagrin), but it will cost me half of what it would to take them when school is out. I figured if I was going to do it the time is now. My oldest turns 12 in November and my youngest just turned 6, so they are all good ages to really enjoy it.
My little girl's birthday party is tonight, so I'm surprising her with the news that we're going to Disney along with monogrammed Minnie Mouse ears, a Disney Princesses' Autograph book, and a dress to wear to have lunch with the Princesses. I'm so excited about this trip. I've even convinced my mom to go with us which could turn out to be a really good decision or a really bad one. Only time will tell. In the meantime, I'll just keep saving my money and rocking the blue I already own.
Going in September is a great idea (and I'm a teacher- sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.) The last time my husband I went, we went in June and it was miserable- crowded, hot, bleh! The weather will be cooler and the lines will be shorter. I'm major jealous.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Disney! So excited (and jealous) for your guys. I'm a self-professed Disney dork. I love it. We're planning our big trip for next October when our guys will be 5 and 4. We're doing Disneyland though-weather's better and I personally prefer it to Orlando, although Orlando is freakin' awesome too. I think we stayed at Disney's Pop Decade Resort when we were there and it was pretty easy to shuttle in to the parks. We're saving the Florida trip for when they're just a bit older and keep up the hectic pace required. I hope you guys have fun! And blog lots about the trip so I can live vicariously! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and your makeup looks phenomenal in the 2nd to last photo!
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt! I tried it on several months ago (in March actually) & have been sale stalking it but the long wait is wearing me down.
ReplyDeleteYou have really beautiful skin.
My husband & I took our 4 kids to DisneyWorld a few years ago & while expensive, it was a magical week. My kids still talk about it. I hope your trip is amazing for you & your kids too!
These photos are great. The lighting is so perfect. Happy Birthday to your little one!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!!! They are going to have a blast, I'm sure! :) We've never been with our kids. I know it's crazy expensive, and can be crowded! Good thinking to pick an off time to go, from a price and crowd standpoint!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the skirt, Bonnie! Gorgeous!
Super WDW fan here, just FYI if you're planning to stay at a resort they do have a free dining plan going right now!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue! You look gorgeous in the color. How fun - a trip to Disney! Enjoy every minute and don't worry about the $$. It all works out in the long run.
ReplyDeleteYay for you, Bonnie! You'll have an amazing time.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks gorgeous in these photos.
Thanks for the tip, Crystal! We're actually taking advantage of that deal!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katey! It looked good because it was clean. It was hair washing day. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry! :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think I'm more excited about it than my kids. They've never been before, so I don't think they realize what it's all about. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate! Took these at sunset aka "golden hour."
ReplyDeleteThanks! If you don't mind me asking, where did you guys stay? It's really hard to find rooms big enough to accommodate more than 4 people. Just curious which route you went. We're staying at the Cabins in Fort Wilderness.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Nicole!
ReplyDelete5 and 4 will be good ages, especially for Disneyland. I think it's smart you are waiting until they're older for Disney World. When I've been in the past, I've seen so many people there with babies, and it looks like a miserable experience to me. Strollers, diapers, etc. No, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this comment! I'm going to read it to my mom. I got a teacher's seal of approval. LOL!
