"Going barely nowhere, and our lives are sometimes boring. I'm just searching for some fascinating times." - The Olms
This lifestyle blogging thing is proving more difficult than I thought. I've been trying to come up with a blog since Friday, and I've already deleted three posts. The first one was about a TV series from the 80's that I couldn't remember the name of. After ten years of fruitless searching on the Internet, I was beginning to think I had dreamed it up until I FINALLY found it on Friday. The second one was about throwing birthday parties for crazy kids who pick obscure "birthday party themes." The third one was simply about how much I hate my nose. In the end, I concluded that no one would really give a shit about any of those topics, so I have decided not to force things and just stick with my tried and true method of showing off dresses and hugging trees.
This is probably my fifth or sixth time wearing this dress, but it's my first time taking pictures in it for the blog. It's been one of my go-to dresses on those really hot days of Summer. Speaking of go-to, I've got the Go-Go Gadget Bra in crossback mode underneath this dress. I'm happy to report it's much more comfortable with straps than without.
Well, that's all I got for you today. Even though I haven't been blogging much lately, there's really nothing of significance to share. I've got some Anthropologie reviews coming up for you next time, so maybe that will prove to be a little more interesting. Kudos to those of you who are sticking with me through this time of scant, lame-ass posts, and special thanks to those of you leaving comments. It's nice to know there are still some of you out there on the line.
Quick chime in to say hello! Cute dress as always. I'm here, often silent, but here just the same. Don't worry about what to say on your "new posts." Don't think about who wants to read it-think about what you want to say, and I'm sure it will be great. Your lifestyle posts have been some of my favorites-those and the ones that you don't edit yourself and speak your mind. To paraphrase Field of Dreams, write it and we will read! :) Looking forward to the review set-hope you're having a great summer!
ReplyDeleteYou look terrific in this dress. :o) Nothing lame-ass about it! PS: You got me...now I'm dying to know the name of the 80s TV series.
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously: Which show?
ReplyDeleteWell, you have to tell us the name of the show from the 80's. My thoughts (as someone who doesn't blog) is to write what you want to write and not what you think people want to read. I'm sure easier said than done.
ReplyDeleteOmg another winner! I read those reviews and had no interest in the dress but it looks so lovely on you, Bonnie and now I want it too however I bought couple archival Anthro pieces and must wait for sale.
ReplyDeleteBtw I enjoy your outfits so don't force other topics :)
I would have read about your birthday planning! I am planning my daughter's first birthday now and hearing about another mother's woes about party planning would be nice. Although my daughter is turning one and I got to choose her cupcake theme, which makes it easier. I told myself I wouldn't turn into one of those crazy mom's who plan a big party for their child's 1st birthday, but I kind of am...
ReplyDeleteOk. So now I am dying to know which TV show it was! You MUST TELL! And you look beautiful hugging the tree. LOVE the dress and your smile is super pretty in the 3rd pic. Actually, your look is like...."come and get me"....kind of a look! HA! Anyway, I love reading whatever you right...now which TV show was it?!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHehehe! Here's a link to a blog that actually did the show justice: http://dinosaurdracula.com/features/amazing-stories-mirror-mirror/
ReplyDeleteI still have nightmares about that episode. I thought it was all in my head, but it turns out I did watch it on TV. And it was directed by Martin Scorsese, no less!
It's on Netflix, so I showed it to my kids last week. They were not impressed. LOL!
It's hard not to go all out, Shelby, especially on the first one. My daughter's party is coming up in a couple of weeks, so maybe I'll do a post on it if it turns out good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Olya! Well, this dress is already on sale, but it doesn't look like it's moving very fast, so I think you should be able to score it even if you have to wait of few weeks.
ReplyDeleteHi, Misty. See my response to Sherry above.
ReplyDeleteSee my response to Sherry above.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracy! LOL! See my response to Sherry above. I used to love scary movies as a kid. Still do, actually. Can't wait to see that new movie "The Conjuring."
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite shows in the 80's was "Tales From the Darkside." This particular episode of "Amazing Stories" was similar to what you would see on Darkside.
Hello, Kristin! Good to hear from you! Thanks for the vote of confidence!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I don't see sale price, it says $108...
ReplyDeleteLove the neckline on this dress! Looking forward to the reviews! :) Those are some of my favorite posts of yours! How's the garden going, btw?
ReplyDeleteBonnie lone time reader and occasional commenter. You should just post whatever the heck you want! Outfits, birthdays, or shows. Don't just pigeonhole your blog to one concept! You've talked about relationships, music, and clothes before now it's just taking a different shift and I think you're just more aware of it versus just letting things happen organically (the worst thing you can do is over think). Keep up the great blog!
ReplyDeleteYes! I loved Darkside as well...and for a miserable year I lived WAY up North, and they had a SF channel that showed the original Dark Shadows, I was hooked. Dad used to let us watch Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock when we were WAY too young to do so...I think it's character-building! LOL Going to see The Conjuring tomorrow night with my brother - we're constantly looking for a really good SCARE. They're hard to find these days, they're all too focused on the gross.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I really enjoy reading your posts, Bonnie. You make me laugh no matter what it is you write about. This time the "hugging trees" sentence got me.
ReplyDeletep.s. We're twinsies now that you bought the macrame maxi - we should do a blog collab called: Same dress, different countries (;
Fat Ass in that dress......
