"Never knew love like this." - Cat Power

Well, I'm wearing my handkerchief dress again or as some like to call it "the sack." I just love this dress. It's so me, and the bonus is that it's a perfect match for my new bracelet. I picked the bracelet up on sale last week at Anthropologie. I really wanted the turquoise version, but it sold out before I could snatch it up, so I settled for this one. Actually, settled is not a good choice of words since I'm really digging this color too.

I've noticed that I'm really into things with a Native American/Southwestern vibe lately. Pretty much everything I've bought the last couple of months or have had a hankering to buy has been in that genre. In fact, it's gotten so bad that I'm eating a Southwestern salad from McDonald's as I type this. I think I've always been into that sort of style, but it's just easier to find those types of items these days in versions that are not too over the top. I'm pretty sure that Fall looming over the horizon has something to do with it, as well. Geo tribal print cardigans, suede moccasins, and fringe boots just seem to equate Fall to me. Speaking of Fall, it's suppose to turn cooler here on Sunday with highs in the 70's. I'm sure this will only serve to kick my Southwestern desires into overdrive.

Jerry had to go home from work early today to oversee the installation of our alarm system, so he is starting his weekend ahead of time. Poor thing thought he was going to lounge around the house all day, but I nipped that in the bud. Since the burglary, we have implemented pretty much every suggestion we have received in order to prevent it from ever happening again. We've cut bushes back, reinforced the doors, started dead bolting the doors, and installed an alarm system. The only thing left was to get a guard dog. Nessie is cute to look at and all, but when it comes to scaring away would be burglars, she just doesn't cut it. Jerry has been wanting a Boxer, and I think Nessie would be happier with a companion, so instead of lounging around on his day off, Jerry is on his way right now to get us a little Boxer puppy. It was a spur of the moment decision. I Googled Boxer puppies and found a couple of females available two hours away that just captured my heart. I told Jerry to call and the next thing I knew, he was calling me back saying he was on his way to pick one up. 2 puppies and 3 kids - we must be glutton for punishment!

Speaking of glutton for punishment, I've decided to make a trip to Anthro tomorrow to return an item. The return might be an exchange, depending on what I find when I get there. My plan is to not spend any money. It's going to be tough, but if I can pull it off, I will be so proud of myself. I'll be sure to snap some pics for reviews while I'm there. Hopefully, I'll be up to trying on a lot of items for you guys. However, after a night with a new puppy, I have a feeling I'll be the worse for wear. There's a lot of stress that comes with a new puppy. I guess I'll just have to take up smoking a peace pipe. ;-)
