"Glowing sun now that you're awake everything seems different. I look around but there's nothing at all. Put on my shoes, I then find that she is still in her pajamas." - Sigur Ros (English Translation)

Yes, I wore this outfit to work this week. Yes, I know it's basically pajamas and was breaking all sorts of fashion in the work place faux pas. No, I didn't care. I wanted to be comfortable. Beside, I think every place of business should have a pajama day at least once a year. Friday's are jeans day now, so pajama day is just a natural progression. Nothing is more comfortable to me than some stretchy pants with an elastic waist band and a big, soft shirt. Add some comfy boots and a cute necklace, and you got yourself work appropriate pajamas.

Speaking of pajamas, I haven't been sleeping well the past couple of days. The weird, vivid dreams are back. I guess this means I'm stressed out again. I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend to unwind before it's back to work and house hunting next week.

Today, I've embedded a video for the song. This video has always reminded me of some strange dream, a lot like those I've been having lately. It seemed like fate when I looked up the English translation of this song, and discovered that it speaks about a girl still in her pajamas. This video is just beautiful. I especially love the part where the little girl takes the little boy's hand while they're sleeping. Jerry and I sometimes wake up holding hands like that. In fact, he held me last night after I had a nightmare. I feel so lucky to be experiencing a love like ours. It reminds me of a quote from Dr. Suess: “You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”

  1. You and your photographer make an amazing duo. That last shot belongs in a gallery.

That purple hue is lovely on you. I'm going to check to see if any of our Canadian Anthro stores still have that shirt. I dig it!

    Hope you're having a lovely Saturday! (:

  6. Thanks! That was Jerry's "play" shot at the end of the shoot. Most of the time, those are the best ones.

You will not regret getting this top. It feels like buttah on the skin!

  10. that top really flatters your body. perfect casual outfit too. I say wear the top with lean-fit slacks, heels, and a pretty necklace to dress it up more- it is really just right.

  11. I also love the last photo. It is so dramatic and beautiful. What I especially like is that it shows you standing with such confidence and control - you are looking out and above, like the master of the kingdom, ready for the future. The backdrop is unkempt, a little ravaged, yet it has beauty. And you look like you are taking it all in, preparing to bring that beauty into its full potential.
