"The smile you smile as you and I, see through your laughing eyes
Oh baby, in the whirlpool of them,
I can be in paradise.
I go roamin' in the gloaming ever and a day with you,
Oh baby, and sit between the stars and say,
That's my point of view.
In the purple heather, on a hillside, mountain fog will stray
Oh yeah, and chase the coloured grass,
Around us in the same old way.
I love you."
- Van Morrison

The purple grass elludes me no more. It took three attempts to get these pictures, but it finally happened. The first time it was cloudy. The second time the sun went down behind the trees just as we got to the location. The third time was doubtful at first as big puffy clouds started to roll in and block the sun, but in the end, the sun peaked out a few times and we were able to get the "glowy" shots we wanted.

I originally planned to wear a dress for this photo shoot but changed my mind once I purchased this top. This top is by far my favorite purchase in a long time. I just feel like "me" in it. I love it so much, and the multiple colors in it fit in so well among this heathered grass. It also goes perfectly with my new Tree and Kimble earrings! These earrings are one of 3 things I got in those cute little packages last week. I just love this whole outfit, and I couldn't be happier with it or the photos. I feel this photo shoot captures my essence and style better than any we've done so far.

So, I dedicate today's song to the photographer. I love you in paradise, I love you in the gloaming even when we have different points of view, and I love you on the heathered hillside when the fog comes rolling in and tries to make us loose our way.

  3. The 4th photo....like, WOW. Amazing in it's ability to transcend the elements in the photo and convey a feeling that everything combines to create. I haven't been able to say that about a photo in a while. This one does just that.

  6. This is my favorite set of photos that you've ever posted. You look gorgeous, the lighting is perfect, the outfit is awesome and meshes perfectly with the setting. My favorite is the one where your back is to the camera and your face is in profile. Beautiful.

  9. Thanks! These are also my favorite. I was determined to get that shot. I must have held my arms out like that for 10 straight minutes! LOL! A gust of wind came up and blew my hair in just the right way and we got the shot.

  18. Do you love your kids, too? Remember them?

  19. Thanks for all the compliments. I must repeat that Bonnie is the engine that drives this train. I just show up and take shots. She usually has the design aspects like color and style worked out, and I may be biased, but me thinks that she's pretty easy on the eyes too.
