"You know some girls are bright as the morning and some girls are blessed with a dark turn of mind." - Gillian Welch
I've had a really good week. That's right - I said WEEK! 5 days straight of no depression, no anxiety, and no weird pains! I realize for months now this blog has turned into a totally different creature. There hasn't been alot of the light and fluffy topics expected from a fashion blog. I'm not going to apologize for that. The fact is I write according to my emotions, and my life is not always light and fluffy. I've been in a dark turn of mind. I've discussed some serious topics, and I've shared some really personal things. I appreciate you guys hanging with me through all of it.
I feel like I'm turning a corner with this post. I'm feeling, dare I say it...a little light and fluffy. Of course, it probably doesn't hurt that it's Friday. I feel like I've mourned for my past, and I'm ready for a new beginning. Therefore, I think it's somewhat symbolic that I'm wearing my new white dress from Anthropologie, the Slubby Tulip Dress.
I saw this little number hanging in the store when I first walked in. I decided to pick it up and try it on to see if my streak of loving the first thing that catches my eye in the store would continue. And, it did...once I got the right size. Somehow, I thought I had grabbed a small, but ended up with a x-small in the fitting room. Of course, I didn't discover this until I had the dress on my body and the top was so tight on my boobs it looked like an ace bandage. I quickly asked a SA, "Does this dress run small?" The SA took one look at my chest in this dress and said, "Yeah, you might want to go up a size...or 2." I ended up purchasing this in a medium, so it's safe to say this dress runs a little small through the chest area. The helpful SA brought me this cool belt to try on with it, and I was sold. I love the relaxed yet elegant vibe of this dress. It is fully lined with the taupey, sheer fabric that makes up the straps. Speaking of the straps, how fabulous are these straps in the back? I own one strapless bra, and I was on pins and needles whether it was going to work with this dress or not. Halle-freaking-lujah, it worked! Curvy girls, don't count this one out!
Was that enough light and fluffy for ya? ;-)
