Breaking In(doors)

"Give me your hand and take what you will tonight, I'll give it as fast and high as the flame will rise." - Iron and Wine

It's been a weird day. I feel like I've been walking around in a dream. I think it's the anxiety again. I had a long day at work then I went over to a friends house to repair her computer. When I got back home, we decided to break in the new camera. As luck would have it, it was rainy today, so the first pictures with the new camera are indoors. It's nice to see the difference in the indoor pictures, though. This camera definitely handles the low light conditions in my house better. The angles on alot of the shots seem funny. Almost like my husband was looking down on me. This camera has a flip-out screen, and I think that might be part of the angle issue. I guess it's going to take some getting used to. I'm pleased with the new camera so far. I can't wait to try it outside. Once I uploaded the pictures to my computer, I passed out. I woke up at 10, ate a bowl of cereal, and started typing up this post.

I'm wearing an outfit you've seen before. The weather has turned cold again, so I'm having a hard time coming up with new ways to remix the winter items in my closet. I'm so over winter clothes. I wish it would warm up already. Anyway, nothing new here other than the fact that I was so out of it this morning that I forgot to put on any jewelry. I didn't realize it until I was sitting in a meeting this morning at work. I suddenly felt naked. I had a little panic attack moment when I realized the horror of my situation. No earrings, no cute ring? What will I do? LOL!

Today's song is "Cinder and Smoke" by Iron and Wine. I like this interpretation: "The farmhouse is representative to me of something stable and unchanging. Home and family. But it's burning down, and the world of your childhood seems to be falling apart, with the dog dragging your mother's clothes through the mud, your mother drunk, your father pathetically trying to cling to something from another life. Notice that while this chaos is going on all around, the narrator's attention is all on the person whose life in undergoing this upheaval, he speaks directly and intimately to her, and each verse begins with "Give me your hand". For me, this isn't a relationship that's ending, but one that's just now taking off amid the wreckage of something that was once of central importance to this person's life. Maybe that's the contradiction in the last two lines: terrible loss, which somehow brings with it a kind of intoxicating freedom..."

I went to Anthro's website today after seeing the Mompos Dress on Louise's blog. I'm in love. I want that dress really, really bad. It's so out of my price range. The only thing I want for my birthday is this dress. I hope it will still be around by the end of May. Fingers crossed. Well, hopefully, if the weather cooperates, I'll be back tomorrow with some outdoor pictures with the new camera. Have a good night!

  11. Kerri: I got the tights back in November. They have been sold out on The Limited's website for awhile now. They are tights and not thigh highs. I will look around the internet and see what I can find.

  12. I found some thigh highs similar to these. Just wondering though, do you think thigh highs are too sexy to wear to work?

    I love your blog!
