"Who's gonna fly your plane when you need to make your getaway?" - Athlete
Well, I had a nice, relaxing day. I dropped the kids off with the mother-in-law this morning, went into work for a little while, and then made a trip to Anthropologie for some fitting room reviews. It was a cloudy, overcast day, so it was a good day for a thoughtful, reflective drive. Just what I needed!
I forgot to charge the camera up last night, so my husband snapped these pics of me with my phone camera. I'm wearing my Outdoor Cafe Cardigan again. It was just one of those days where I wanted to wear a comfy, warm sweater. This time I put the Folded Momentos Tee under it. I really like these two items together. The colors match perfectly.
Anthro was very busy today. I guess everybody was out shopping since they had the day off. I brought 20 items back to the fitting room. I ended up loving 2 dresses, and I brought a skirt that was on sale back home with me. It was the only one in the sale room, it fit great, and it was only $39.95. Also, I don't really have anything like it in my closet, so I thought it was a good buy. I'll have to wait like a good girl to get one of the dresses next month. I'll post all the reviews for you soon.
The drive back home was a rainy one. I actually enjoyed it, though. I stopped and got a latte from Starbucks and sipped on it while I drove to my favorite music. When I got back home with the kids, it was crazy choas again. I enjoyed my little getaway.
The song of the day is "The Getaway" by Athlete. I saw Athlete in a little club in Chapel Hill a few months ago with my good friend Annie. We were right up front. The lead singer jumped into the crowd at the end of the show and knocked our drinks over. It was an awesome show! This song is off their newest album, Black Swan Song. This album is a little more poppy than what I usually listen too, but I really like it. This song is about a man who can sense his significant other is thinking about leaving him, but he doesn't want her to leave. I especially love the first verse:
"I never really know who you are. You could be a ghost for all I know whenever your home. Picking up pieces of my heart like leaves that have fallen on our garden path."
Well, I wonder if there will be a Anthro sale tomorrow? Gosh, I hope nothing I want goes on sale, because I absolutely cannot buy another thing until February! Say a little prayer for me! LOL! Have a good night!

Getaways are the best and so needed in a mom's life! Your cardigan and top are perfect together...casual yet you look quite put together!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a relaxing day today Bonnie! The Folded Mementos Tee looks so pretty on you! I bought it for my sister a while back, and now "steal" it every time she comes to visit. :) And I laughed at your comment about bringing 20 items back to the fitting room! :) My Anthro was really busy, too, but sadly, they were limiting us to 10 items each!
ReplyDeleteLastly, that is so awesome that you saw Athlete live! One of my all-time favorite songs is "Wires"
Love your style. And your photos!
ReplyDeleteBonnie - I love the Folded Momentos with the Outdoor cafe. You look really relaxed and comfy and ready for some relaxation. I am so happy to read your posts everyday - you style your outfits so nicely. I finally scored the Graces top (When you wear it I always think I need it...now we will see!) :)
ReplyDeleteI hope your day-off glow will last a little while.
Cheers! xoxo
Did you purchase this sweater recently (can't find it online)? It is super cute and looks nice and cozy.
ReplyDeleteWow - you look amazing in that outfit...very sleek and slender...nice job! Glad you got out - I love the ride home, alone with my music.
ReplyDeleteI love this shirt on you. It is a fave of mine too. I posted about it here:

Your whole look is really casual and chic. Can't wait for the reviews!
Jenni: Thanks! Yes, us moms need our getaways!
ReplyDeleteJen: Thanks! Only 10 items, I would die! LOL! Athlete was great live. Wires was the last song they did and it was the song where the lead singer jumped into the crowd. He played it acoustic right there in the middle of the crowd.
Anon: Aww, thanks!
Sherry: Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy my blog! I'm also glad you were able to get the Graces Tank. It's a great layering piece!
Susan: I got it on sale a few months ago.
Tracy: Thanks! I've lost some weight recently, so I milking it while it last! LOL!
Thirteenlbs: Thanks! I'm going to go check out your blog now.
So glad you had a less hectic day. And these photos are of such great quality -- especially considering that they were taken with a phone camera!
ReplyDeleteI love the print on your blouse -- very, very pretty!
