Each Coming Night

"Will you say to me when I'm gone: Your face has faded but lingers on because light strikes a deal with each coming night." - Iron and Wine

Another good day. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so I'm sure that didn't hurt any. I spent most of the day inside with my family, but just to see the sunshine coming in through the windows was enough to brighten up my day. I took all my pictures for my blog sale. Now, I just need to post it all. I should have everything up tomorrow.

My husband and I did get out for a little while this afternoon. It was great weather for a photo shoot. I knew I wanted to wear my Lappula Dress again since it was overshadowed by my depressing post on Thursday. This time I decided to wear it with a bolero, purple tights, and my Raines Heels. I think I prefer this look over the one earlier in the week with my Frye boots. Today's photoshoot was inspired by the new Anthropologie catalog. I really liked the indoor shots they did with the paint peeling off the walls. I thought the rich colors in this dress would look great indoors. I remembered that my dad had a cement block house where he housed his Mexican workers a few years ago. It is abandoned now, so I thought we would go check it out and see if it would work for a indoor photo shoot. There were several areas in the house that looked promising, but most of them didn't have good enough lighting. Luckily, there was one spot by the window in the living room that worked pretty good. I had to edit the indoor shots once I got them back on my computer. I'm really starting to like this editing thing. It really transformed these indoor photos. I don't know what I'm doing, but they look good to me. I didn't have to touch any of the outdoor shots. The sun was casting a really pretty light this afternoon.

Today song is "Each Coming Night" by Iron and Wine. This is my favorite Iron and Wine song. To me this song is about memories and how precious they are. We can relive our good memories each night in our dreams and get a small taste of the way we felt at that time. This is a very comforting thought to me. Have a good night! Sweet dreams!

  1. I absolutely love this combination of the purple tights with the dress! So awesome. It really brings out the purple in the dress and you look SOOOO fabulous!!! I'm such a dope for not picking up the Raines Heels! They go so well with this dress. I really wish there was sun here so I can wear a dress too! :) Hope you're having a great weekend!

  2. I love this combo- every piece of it. I do like it better like this than with the boots. The Raines Heels are to die for - I wanted them but there were 4 other pairs I wanted as well. Have a lovely day tomorrow. Still praying for you and your road to healing your "heart hurts". Cheers!

  4. wow. 5th picture down - indoors, with the tractor outside the window? Fantastic photo. The window and the tractor look like a piece of art hanging on the wall....great editing, Bonnie - that one should be framed.

  6. I totally agree with Tracy re 5th pic. I had to do a double take with the tractor outside. AWESOME composition. Just love your pics. One tiny suggestion re something I noticed in this pic (but haven't noticed before so may just a fluke): with the dried grass so high, I can't see your feet/shoes so it looks a little funny in the pic where you're standing in the grass. I'm not sure how to solve that other than maybe pat the grass down a little before standing there??? Or put one foot up on a brick or wall or something.

  7. Elizabeth: Thanks! I'm so happy I've found another dress to wear my purple tights with! I hope you get sunshine really soon!

Sherry: Aww, thanks! I almost didn't get these shoes myself. I'm glad I finally caved and got them.

    Jenni: Thanks!

Tracy: That was my favorite picture as well. I make my husband take alot of pictures. We're both amateurs with a crappy camera to boot. He gets lucky sometimes. LOL!

    Mandy: Thanks! Me too!

St Germain: Thanks! You're right. I noticed the missing feet thing when I was editing these. I loved everything else about those photos, so I didn't think it was worth scrapping them. I will definitely take your advice in the future.
