Alary Shirtdress ($128) This dress was the first thing I noticed when I walked into the store. Once again, the first item that catches my attention does not disappoint. I love the pattern on this dress! Birds and butterflies? Yes, please! This dress is made out of a fine-wale corduroy. It reminds me a lot of the Southward Stop Shirtdress, but I actually prefer the colors and pattern on this dress. I tried on a size 6, and it was a little too tight through the chest area. Since size 6 was the largest size they had at my store, I promptly placed an order online for a size 8. It is making its way to me now. I can't wait to be reunited with this beauty! I see us having many lovely outings together.
Lotte Blouse ($68) and Effortless Corduroy Skirt ($88) I was excited to try on this skirt. I love the color, and it looks really comfortable. I tried on a size 6 and though it was indeed comfortable, it did nothing for my figure. My hips looked ginormous in this thing. Too bad because I had a lot of fun walking around the dressing room with my hands in those big front pockets. As for the Lotte Blouse, it was okay. Jerry really liked it, but I just wasn't feeling it. Something about the pattern seemed like something you could get from JCPenny's or "Penny's" as all the fine southern ladies call it around these parts. Pass on both.
Vine-Wrapped Tee ($78) As you know am a sucker for green, so I couldn't resist trying on this pretty little top. I tried on a small, and I liked the fit. However, I was sort of underwhelmed by this top especially for the price. I might consider it at sale time. Pass for now.
Bishop Sleeve Pointelle Tunic ($118) You may be wondering what the hell I'm doing trying on this wool-infested sweater when I'm allergic to wool. I was wondering that myself once I got it on, but it is such a pretty sweater that I was willing to sacrifice myself for you guys. Don't ever say I don't do anything for you! I tried on a Medium, but it was too big. A small would have been a better fit I think. It's definitely sheer through the midsection, so a layer underneath is required. I love the sleeves and pointelle detail on this sweater. Too bad it's too itchy for me. Pass.
Mystery Ella Moss Top ($68) and Level 99 Lily Straight Leg ($98) I couldn't find this top online, so I'm not sure of the name. What I do know is that I really like it. It's so comfortable and has that 70's vibe I love so much. I think this top would look even better belted. This is a size small. Wishlisted. I decided to try on these jeans because they were a good price and looked like they would be comfortable. I tried a 28 and they were a little on the tight side. Honestly, when I held them up I didn't think I was going to be able to get them on at all. They looked tiny. However, these have a lot of stretch, so they went on without a hitch. I think a 29 would be more comfortable though. I don't really need another pair of straight leg jeans right now, so these were a pass.
Just a Dash Cardi ($68) Another green top. This time in the chartreuse variety. I adore this color. I loved the fit as well. I tried on the size small and really wanted to take this one home with me, but I decided on the Catalan Tee over this. Definitely wishlisted.
Dusk Peony Blouse ($118) Yet another top I fell in love with. I'm really digging the beautiful Fall color palette and the fit is very similar to the Catalan Tee that I purchased. This is a size 6. The thing that ultimately deterred me from getting this top was the price. I think I'll wait this one out until sale time. Wishlisted.
Plaited Shoulder Tee ($58) Yes, I know, I know. Another green top. It's an addiction. I admit it. Anyway, I tried this one on in a size medium and the fit was horrible. It was very boxy and unflattering. I don't think a small would have helped matters any. Also, the material felt very cheap. Pass.
Slung Sash Tee ($88) Last but not least is the Slung Sash Tee in Moss. I had a reader suggest this top for me, so I was really excited to try it on. I think the detail in the front is so sexy. Jerry really loved this top. I tried it on in a size medium, and I think it was a good fit. I had a little extra material down at the bottom, but it wasn't that troublesome, and I think I need the larger size for the girls. I feel the price is a little high for a sleeveless knit tee, so I'm going to try to wait until sale time to pick this one up. Wishlisted.
I love the slung sash tee on you! That would look so cute under a fitted blazer.
ReplyDeleteHa! My grandmothers (fine southern women) would always take me to "Penney's". Love those memories. I think you should make the first picture of your last post (beauty myth) your header ... it's so lovely and fall/wintery.
ReplyDeleteThe Slung Sash Tee looks fab on you! Love Bailey 44 but their things are always hideously expensive.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the Alary shirtdress - and I thought it was much like the Southward Stop dress. I missed out on that one! NOT THIS TIME! :) You look fabu! Cheers! xoxo
