"And all you see is where else you could be when you're at home. And out on the street are so many possibilities to not be alone." - Death Cab for Cutie
I'm feeling a little blue tonight. Today is the start of my week without my kids. I miss them so much. I called tonight just so I could hear their voices. After having spent the whole week chasing them around and hearing their constant chatter, it's so incredibly quiet now. It's surreal and sad. I hope it gets easier with time.
It's strange living in 2 different places. It seems no matter which "home" I'm at, I'm missing something. I kinda feel like I don't have a real home right now. Home is a place where you have everything you need. I can't say that about either one of my places of residence right now. In a sense, I'm homeless. I keep telling myself that this is just a transition period and that gets me through. I know this is the best solution for the kids, so I'm willing to be patient.
Today's photos were taken at an old, abandoned building on a street corner. I'm wearing an old Anthro skirt that I haven't worn in awhile. It is really big on me, so I belted it. I forgot to pack my belts in my suitcase, so I dug around the bottom of my closet at the kid's house and found an old belt from The Limited that I haven't worn that much. I think it goes perfect with this skirt. The flowers on the belt look a lot like the embroidered flowers on the skirt. So, sometimes it pays to improvise.
The song of the day is "Your Heart Is An Empty Room" by Death Cab For Cutie. This is one of my favorite songs by Death Cab. It reminded me of the way I'm feeling tonight, typing away in this quiet room.
On a lighter note, I've got some Anthro reviews coming your way soon. Also, if you haven't already done so, check out my items for sale here. I've got some great dresses, a skirt, and a jacket for sale.

ReplyDeleteSad! I hope you will go back to your family and stay married and get your kids taken care off by their own dad and mother under one roof.
ReplyDeleteYou look like am illion bucks even if you are sad, so all will get super easier with time.
Love, love, love your outfit! Especially, the top matches so well with the skirt, and belt with shoes! Nice photos as always! :) Hope you can hang in there. Can't wait for your Anthro reviews. Hope you will be able to score some goodies at the tag sale!
ReplyDeleteha- that belt IS perfect with the flowers on the skirt...
ReplyDeleteThings will find their place- it will definitely take some time though...
Great job with the belt and skirt matching, looks perfect to me :) You always have the best backgrounds to your photos, the town you live in must be gorgeous, or else you just find the best spots!
ReplyDeleteSorry that you have to filter your comments. I too hope you stop parading around town when your family is crumbling. Think of them. The day uoi had them this became about THEM.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore that skirt! And the belt looks so nice with it...
ReplyDeleteGigi: Thanks! I glad you "heart" my outfit.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 10:23: What's sad is to treat marriage like a prison you have to stay in for the kids. I'm not living my life like that.
Julia: Thanks! I was skeptical when I first put the skirt on because of it's size, but once I put the belt over it, it all came together.
greendress: Everyone keeps telling me time will heal all wounds. I'm a impatient person by nature, so it tough for me, but it will be worth it if all is forgiven in the end.
Jess: Thank you! Ha! My town is pretty rundown which ironically makes for interesting photos. However, I love it's "rustic" beauty.
Anon @ 10:43: I don't buy into the philosophy that once you have children you no longer matter. I refuse to live that way, and I won't teach my children to live that way either. I'm going to enjoy what time I have here, so I will parade around town until the cows come home. No one's forcing you to watch. Don't rain on my parade! LOL!
Meghan: Thanks! I'm so happy I finally found something to wear this belt with!
