I'm so happy to be offering you guys a giveaway! I was contacted by a reader this week named Monica. She explained to me that she had recently purchased the Cuprum Tree Necklace from Anthropologie, and while it was beautiful, it was too long for her. She proposed giving me the necklace to offer up for a giveaway on my blog. I was touched by this extremely generous gesture and said, "Um, heck yeah!" I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Monica lives in my smalltown. Another fellow Anthropologie-lover in my town? I just couldn't believe it! Most people in my town have never even heard of Anthropologie. We made a date to eat lunch together so she could give me the necklace. It was really nice meeting and talking with her. I think I may have scored myself a potential shopping partner! Sweet! Thanks so much to Monica for making this giveaway possible!

ReplyDeleteThe most generous thing I have ever done? That is hard because I don't like to brag about stuff... so, what I will say.....I think the most generous thing anyone has ever done for me is to acknowledge me by spending time with or for me. So, I suppose that is generous of me-I like to give of myself and energy to others to help them feel better about themselves or to encourage them to be the best they can be... and that is the purpose of my blog in the long run. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI blogged about your blog (and give away) here:

I guess one of the most generous things I've done is helped out my sister out financially during rough times. One thoughtful thing I just did tonight is I attempted to bake a cake and frosting from scratch for my grandma's birthday. I am NOT a baker/cooker at ALL. I think the cake should be OK, but I messed up the frosting. I didn't know confectioners' sugar was not regular sugar. =/ It's the thought that counts though, right? oh well! Sorry for the long post!:)

ReplyDeleteThe most generous thing I've done so far probably was when I was in high school, we were struggling financially and our computer crapped out on us. My mom couldn't afford to buy us a new one so I surprised her by taking out most of my savings to buy us a brand new computer. That was 7 years ago and she still thanks me for it on a regular basis.
Thanks!

ReplyDeleteHmmm most generous thing that was done for me was the first month that I lived on my own (for various reasons, not a choice), and had to pay out a lot of month for deposits/cleaning/furniture etc, money was a bit tight one week, and my friend's mother stopped by with some fruits/veggies/meats. I just stood there crying. This was many many many years ago.

Yep, I follow on Bloglovin and Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteThe most generous thing that someone has done for me would have to be my parents letting me live in a house they own rent-free. I couldn't raise my son as a single mom and go back to school without their kindness!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm a follower...great contest!

Also, I can't really choose ONE most generous thing, but my parents are totally generous with me and my family, helping out with watching the kids and bringing us little treats. My dad had a stroke a while ago, yet they continue to be generous with their time and efforts! I'm absolutely lucky!

ReplyDeleteI believe in giving to charities, buying someone a coffee, or sending a special little gift. But there is one thing that sticks in my mind. I was at the post office in my home town and the woman in front of me was sending her son a package to Afganistan. I stepped up and asked he was in the military and if I could pay for the postage. At first she said no it was really expensive, but I insisted on doing so, saying it was the least that I could do for what he was doing for our country. She then hugged me and started tearing up, I started tearing up and even the woman behind us started tearing up. I never forget how much my little act of kindness touched us all that day.
I have to say its not something that I did, but its something my husband did this past week and it really stands out in my mind. He was outside working on our front porch when a man broke down in his truck in front of our house. Him and my husband tried and tried to get the truck running but without any luck. He kept saying that he had to go pick his wife up at the hospital and he didn't have any way of contacting, so you know what my husband does? He give this stranger the keys to his new truck and says, hey man go and pick up your wife and just come back here and we will call a tow truck. The man was a agog, because he couldn't believe that a complete stranger would give him the keys to his vehicle and trust him to go and pick up his wife and come back. My husband has a heart of gold. :) I was very proud of him.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great question for a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think the nicest thing I have ever done for someone was be there for my best friend while he was going through a rough time in his life. He was going through mild depression, and to make it worse his family was being unbelievably not supportive. Though it was nothing i SPECIFICALLY did, i'd like to think by being there, I made his life a little bit easier.

Its hard to pick a MOST generous thing that I have done or someone else has, but a friend was recently VERY generous so this is still on my mind. I live in the south and my car's AC recently went out. Lots of parts and labor later, I found myself with a $1000 bill and no money to pay for it. MY friend offered to lend me the money which was so stinking kind of her it was so touching that she is so altruistic!
