Wind Blown

"This is not the sound of a new man or crispy realization. It's the sound of the unlocking and the lift away." - Bon Iver

It's me again! It's been a productive day. I cleaned the whole house, including cleaning everything out of the kitchen cabinets, vacuuming them, and scrubing them down. The fields were plowed this week and that has got the field mice scurring into our house. We had some "evidence" of their presence in our kitchen cabinets, hence the deep cleaning. New traps have been set, so, hopefully, we won't have to do this again for awhile.

It rained most of the day, but it cleared up late this afternoon, so we were able to get out for a photo shoot. Since the ground was really wet, I thought this would be a good time to take some road photos. We drove down to one of the back roads a few miles from our house. Only one car came by while we were taking these, so it worked out good. There was a big problem, though. Wind. Really strong wind. Since I'm having some root issues, I pulled my hair back. The wind wreaked havoc on it. My husband kept laughing at my crazy hair. I got pissed off and took my hair down for a few shots then I pulled it back again for the last few. I couldn't have worn anything worse in high wind conditions. This dress was blowing all over the place. If you notice I'm pretty much facing the same direction in all these photos. That's because the wind was blowing toward me in that direction so that was the only way my hair and dress didn't look completely crazy. I was expecting the worse when I uploaded these photos, but I ended up liking alot of them. My husband always makes me think it's worse than it is. He's a classic overreactor. Another bad thing about pulling my hair back - I have a huge zit on my forehead. Grey hair or a zit? I don't know which is worse. Oh well, I guess it makes me more real and relatable right? LOL!

Today's song is "RE: Stacks" by Bon Iver. I love the lyrics in this song, especially the part about the black crow. I think this song can be interpreted in many ways. I get something different out of it everytime I listen to it. Right now, I'm liking this interpretation: "It's about understanding the magnitude and the weight of an emotion (love) (hence stacks, load, etc.) and how much it controls you, how much it has enveloped you (almost too much), and you really can't break free of it - this is why it's also humbling (hence the humbling he receieved at the poker table).

Well, it's the most lovely day of the week tomorrow, Monday. Yuck! I just realized that I will have been blogging for a year at the end of this month. Wow! I can't believe it! I'll have to do a special photo shoot or something for the occasion. I hope you all have a great week! Good night!

  6. Hi Bonnie - you sure don't look like you've been in a funk. These pictures are great, hair up and hair down. The wind was obviously blowing really hard but it adds an extra dimension to the shoot!
