First Blooms

"I came across a fallen tree. I felt the branches of it looking at me. Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?" - Keane

I'm blogging on a Sunday morning. It's pouring down rain outside, and I'm laying in bed drinking a cup of coffee. I love these kind of mornings. I meant to blog last night, but it didn't work out. My husband took me out on a date, and I drank too much and got sick. When we got home, I passed out. Yes, I'm old. Yesterday, I went into work for a few hours and then came home and hung out with my mom for a little while. We had a good talk, and I feel better about some things that have been weighing on me lately.

We had time to take some photos before we left on our date. It was a casual date, so I don't have on anything earth shattering here. My husband suggested we take some pictures with the Bradford Pear tree in the field beside our house. The blooms on this tree are so pretty right now, but to be honest, they stink. I can't really describe the smell, but it's not a pleasant one. There was some good wind blowing. So, we got some shots with the wind in my hair that I think are really pretty. After looking at some of the closeups, I've realized that it's time for a trip to the salon. There are some serious grey's going on in my roots. If I had some fancier photo-editing software, I would have totally photoshopped those bad boys. LOL!

Today's song is "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. Oh, Keane, you have gotten me through some really difficult times. Even my husband likes Keane, and he hates most of my music. I convinced him to listen to my Ipod on the drive last night, and he skipped through most of the songs. He says my music is too slow, and it puts him to sleep. Since he was driving, I let him listen to what he wanted. LOL!

It's suppose to be a rainy day, so I'm not sure what kind of pictures we will be able to get today, but I'm going to try to come up with something. So, if all goes well, I should be back with another post tonight. Don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a beautiful necklace from Anthropologie! Have a great day!

  1. that first picture is amazing. You have such beautiful scenery. I just wrote a blog a few days ago about how I have tons of gray hair too, and I'm only 32. I'm glad I'm not the only one and I have heard it's sexy when young women have a little gray--not sure I buy that, but you look great!!

  2. You look beautiful as always! I'm 36 and if Miss Clairol and I didn't have a standing date every 6 weeks I'd have a head full of grey! (and here's a little secret--my brother is 31 and he has had a serious relationship with Miss Clairol for years!)
I love your casual looks. SO easy and elegant.

  10. We don't have a lot of Bradford Pears up here, but I grew up in SC and absolutely HATED this time of year when they would bloom. They smell disgusting, but it is so hard to describe. Beautiful trees, though!

Love the outfit, the colors, and the pics! Lovely as always!
