Hello Sunshine

"I hold you in cupped hands and shield you from a storm." - Keane

I'm back! It's been a long Monday. It's 10:30pm, and I'm just settling down enough to type this up. My life is still a crazy mess, but things are starting to settle down some now. It feels good to be typing a post again. I've got alot of exciting things in the works for you guys. I'm doing my anniversary photo shoot tomorrow, so I'm super excited about that. I went to Anthro over the weekend, so I've got some reviews coming tomorrow. In addition, I have lots of great photo shoot ideas for the coming weeks. So, things are starting to look up around here.

This is my outfit from yesterday. It was a beautiful spring day. I wanted to be comfortable and casual, so I went for a pale yellow top that I recently purchased from AE and some wide-leg jeans that are 2 sizes too big for me. I just love the color of this top. Yellow always makes me feel sunny and happy, two things I need alot of lately. These jeans are a favorite of mine from my heavier days. I think the bagginess of the jeans works with the relaxed vibe of this outfit. I finished things off with turquoise jewelry and strappy sandals.

The photographer friend and I went to a beautiful location for these photos. I love the big old-growth trees with their knotted roots. Across the road from these trees was a beautiful field of flowers. I wanted to run amoung the flowers, but from the looks of it, this field had corn in it last year, so the ground was very uneven and corn stalks were sticking up in places. Not an ideal place for a run. My picturesque moment could have quickly turned into a not so graceful face plant into the dirt. LOL! So, I fought the urge to take off running.

Today's song is "Sunshine" by Keane. This song is such an inspiration to me right now. I like this meaning: "He's taking care of this thing or person, but he has to let them go - only an idiot would do it, but he's calling himself an idiot and realizing that he still has to go through with it. For me this song is about letting go of something you care dearly for and as such it's bittersweet. It's about losing and finding yourself and others, or losing and finding yourself through others."

I'll be back tomorrow with Anthropologie Reviews. I fell in love with a dress that I must have one way or the other. I will not have an outfit of the day tomorrow since I'll be taking my anniversary photos. I'll be posting those photos over the weekend. I should be back with outfit photos on Wednesday. Have a great night!

  1. Love that last picture Bonnie, it should be in a magazine! The yellow shirt and purple flowers are so spring-like. Can't wait to see your anniversary photos and so glad you're feeling better. Like I said a few months ago, I have mental health issues and I completely understand.

  2. Good to have you back again:))) I love those photos of you in the flower field. Envious! Anyway, is your area away from the numerous twister that hit USA? I was concerned as I read in my local papers that NC was one of the affected states.
