"And from the minute that the line got drawn, I couldn't see straight to you for nothing." - Blind Pilot
It's been a pretty good day. I had tons of stuff to do at work, so the day went by fast and my mind wasn't idle. I got an email from Roxy asking me to do a little post on her blog. I'm super excited about it! Now, I just have to figure out what I'm going to write about, and I need to come up with a great idea for a photo shoot. I can only post one picture. I don't know how I'm going to do it! LOL! I was in such good spirits this afternoon. I was singing and dancing in my car. I know my kids think I'm crazy! My older son has a good ear for music. He actually likes all my Indie Rock. He sings along to most of it. One thing I've decided I have got to do is get my piano from my dad's house. I really want to start playing again. It's a waste to let 12 years of lessons go down the drain. I just don't know where to put it, but I'm going to try and figure something out.
I'm wearing my Deuxhill Cowlneck again. I called yesterday and tried to get a price adjustment since it went on sale. It had been 16 days since I bought it, so I thought it was worth a shot. Of course, I got the "stickler for the rules" customer service rep. She wouldn't budge on the 14 day price adjustment policy. Oh well, can't say I didn't try! This time I'm wearing it with pants. I wore a purple cardigan to bring out the purple color in the top. I didn't wear this red belt to work, but everytime I looked in the mirror today, I felt like I needed a belt on these pants. It just looked kinda naked. So, when I got home, I put this red belt on for the photos.
Today's song is "One Red Thread" by Blind Pilot. I saw Blind Pilot open up for The Decemberists last year. They were really good live! When I first heard this song, I wasn't sure what it was about. I went looking on the Internet and found this quote:
"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break." What a beautiful concept!
Well, tomorrow's Friday! I can't wait to sleep in Saturday morning. I'm so sleep deprived! I think I may try to do some writing this weekend. We'll see what happens. Good night!
Blouse: Anthropologie Deuxhill Cowlneck
Sweater, Pants, Belt, and Ring: The Limited
Shoes: Anthropologie Raines Heels
Love love LOVE your outfit today! I wanted to get that top in that print, but haven't found it yet. I got the black and the other print instead. Definitely get that piano back! I had 15 years of lessons too and had just started taking lessons again and then I got pregnant. And then I got pregnant again. So my piano is lonely and depressed right now. It still has sheet music sitting on top from what I last played over a year ago! Go for it-it'll be a great escape and stress-release for you.

Bonnie, I've gotten a PA on items past the 14 day period. If you ordered online, write a super sweet email to service@anthropologie.com asking them if they'll please consider a PA since it was only 2 days past the deadline and that you received the item less than 2 weeks ago. I found that if I keep asking, I will eventually get a nice SA to make the adjustment. If you call at night, they are usually very firm about the 14 days. Daytime calls are better. Also, I've found that if I go into the store, I can usually find a nice SA to make the adjustment. Good luck!

Your outfit is supercute today. And did you do something different with your hair? It looks great, but different than usual. Color?
ReplyDeletePS - Can't wait to see your guest blog on Roxy's blog. :)
Wow! Really Cute outfit Bonnie. Love the Red belt and pants, great in the spirt of Valentine.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that your son enjoys your music and sings along. I often wonder whether my future kids will like the music I listen to...I hope so! I never liked the type of music my parents listened to..haha! I love that blouse paired with the purple cardi! And the red belt is the perfect final touch!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, just bought the Deuxhill cowlneck but in the solid purple and waiting for it to arrive. Love your style and wondering what color cardi you would pair with the purple? I feel like there has got to be a more creative combination that just a black cardi and slacks but that's probably how I would end up wearing it. How would you style the purple top?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Laura
Kristin: Thanks! I'm moving the piano tomorrow! So excited!
ReplyDeleteLisa: Thanks for the advice. I called during the day, but maybe I will try again.
Ady: Thanks! I got my hair cut and colored 2 weeks ago. My son used all the hot water this morning, so I had to take a freezing cold shower. Maybe the cold water helped my hair.
Anon: Thanks! I'm glad I added the belt.
Meghan: Thanks! He's a cool kid! I try to be a cool mom.
Laura: I would go with either an olive green cardi or pale yellow. The Limited has a really pretty pale yellow cardi that I got a couple of weeks ago. As far as bottoms, I think any neutral color pant or skrit would look good. Gray would be nice with the yellow cardi. Khaki would look good with the green.
