"I'm in a crisis. I need help. Come on mood shift, shift back to good again." - Of Montreal
Well today was an improvement over yesterday. The weather is still dark and dreary, but I decided to stop wallowing in self-pity and take a proactive approach to life. No one can make my life better but me, so I'm going to start doing whatever I need to do to be happy.
One of the things that makes me happy is wearing the color yellow. Green is my favorite color, but yellow just makes me smile. If the sun won't come out, well I'll just make my own sunshine, gosh darnit! Most of my outfit came from The Limited - no Anthro in site. I haven't worn pants in awhile because, well, I have a "problem" that most people wouldn't consider a problem. My pants are too big. I just got these pants a few weeks ago. They're not falling off or anything, but they're baggier than I would like. Oh well...this is one problem I don't mind so much. The yellow tank underneath has cute ruffles along the neckline. I finished things off with a black cardigan and a teal belt.
Today's song is "Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse" by a quirky little band called Of Montreal. As you can see, they have really creative song titles. LOL! I've heard that they have really entertaining concerts. My boss has seen them twice. Apparently, the lead singer, Kevin Barnes, wears alot of elaborate costumes on stage. I hope to see them live one day. This song is off the album "Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?" This album is amazing! Every song is great. The music is very upbeat, but the subject matter is pretty depressing. Kevin wrote these songs when he was going through a very troubled time in his life. I think this song in particular is about feeling bad because of a "chemical imbalance." I always think of this song when I'm feeling bad and it cheers me up a little. "Come on chemicals..." LOL!
