"I'll take the best of your bad moods and dress them up to make a better you." - Death Cab For Cutie
I hate Mondays, but this one wasn't so bad. It went by pretty fast, and I didn't cry or have an anxiety attack, so I'm counting it as a good day. LOL! The kids don't have school tomorrow, so I'm enjoying having a night off from homework. I talked to my sister today, and she has been going through a rough patch lately too. She said she likes to watch sad movies when she is depressed. She's made a list of all the movies she wants to watch over the next few days. That sounds like craziness to me! There is no way I would want to watch a movie like "Bridges of Madison County" right now. It would just bring me down even more. She said it's a release for her to cry. To each her own I guess. I like to read when I'm depressed, but not anything sad. I like to escape from reality. I like Sci-Fi and mystery novels. I've been meaning to read the last book in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy, so I think I will get started on it tonight.
Today, I'm wearing the Deuxhill Cowlneck again , but this time I used it in a more professional look. I'm excited that I've found another top to wear with my Acting Out Skirt! I felt very "Joan Holloway" in this. I had to take my pictures in the office this afternoon. My husband is the treasurer for a non-profit, and he had to attend a meeting tonight. So, he stopped by my office to take pictures of me before he had to go to the meeting. My boss was out today, so we took the pictures in his office. His office looks much nicer than mine, and when the cat's away, the mice will play. LOL! I've always loved that painting in the background, so I was excited to get my picture taken with it. I can't say that the flourescent light is doing me any favors, but the clothes show up well, so that's a good thing.
Today's song is another one by my favorite band, Death Cab For Cutie. Getting tired of them yet? Sorry, but I'm kinda obsessed with them. The song is "Company Calls", and it's an oldie but a goodie. It is a very upbeat song, but the subject matter is anything but. Ben Gibbard does this alot. He will write a song with a depressing subject matter and sing it all upbeat and happy. "No Sunlight" is a newer example of a song where he does this. Once again, great lyrics in this one. There is an Epilogue that goes along with this song, so if you like this one, you should check that one out too - to get the rest of the story.
Gosh, tomorrow is Anthro sale day! I seriously hope nothing I have to have goes on sale. Sometimes it's like torture being addicted to Anthropologie. Have a good night!

Hi Bonnie, glad to hear you had a good day today! I absolutely adore your look - so polished and feminine! And that's funny you took photos in your boss's office :) Also, you can never have enough Death Cab For Cutie IMO...you're so right about their lyrics and deceptively "happy" tunes...I Will Follow You Into The Dark makes me tear up sometimes...btw, you should do a post sometime about your favorite books/movies :)
ReplyDelete*GASP* I have so loved this cowlneck since I first saw it in the stores and you ROCK IT. You look great, Bonnie.

You look as if you stepped right out of the 50s-- in a good way! Sweet and feminine...and put together.
