Mama Knows Best

Thanks for all the responses yesterday regarding the Wightwick Manor Dress! As you can see from today's outfit, I decided to keep it. Ultimately, my mom convinced me to keep it. I tried it on for her this morning, and she loved it! She didn't think it was too big. Of course, we're talking about a 64 year old woman, so of course she is going to like the more conservative fit. LOL! However, I was digging how it looked on me this morning, and once I put on the Cockle Shell Tights and Brass and Band Booties, it was a done deal. I really love these tights, but my dress stuck to them all day when I was walking. So annoying! I might have to throw a slip under the dress next time.

I'm so tired today. My little girl was sick last night, so I was up with her alot. I had horrible dark circles under my eyes this morning. I was really thankful for makeup! I kinda feel depressed a little. Maybe it's the lack of sleep. It's one of those days where I'm like, "This is all there is to life? Wake up, go to work, come home, go to sleep." I'm longing for some excitement. I listened to lots of music today. I love the way music makes me feel. I wish I was in a band or something. It seems like such a exciting, creative kind of life. I play the piano, but I haven't played in a long time because my piano is at my dad's house. I wish there were room for it in my house. I would really love to start playing again. I have to work tomorrow, but I have Monday off. I'm thinking about making a trip to Anthro that day. I really want to do some reviews of the new arrivals. Man, I'm really rambling aren't I? Sorry!

I've received nine entries so far for my photo contest! I'm so excited about them! It's going to be really hard to pick a winner! It's not too late to submit a photo. I'll take entries until Midnight PST. Go here for all the details.

  1. I'm glad you kept the dress, it's wonderful on you, and I really love it with the burgundy tights!

I'm sorry you are feeling deflated today - I'm sure it's a combination of life, lack of sleep and post-holiday blues. I definitely have times of feeling frustrated with the monotony and drain of raising young children. You are not alone in that, not be a lot. I hope tomorrow is brighter for you :)

  3. I don't think it looks too big, just like you wanted a comfy fit. I always like having a couple of bigger dresses for those days I'm feeling puffy. : ) You're really making me want those booties.

  5. Great call from your Mum, it really works with the tights and boots and you look very comfortable in this combo. Sorry that you are feeling down. The dreg end of the year can be like that but soon it'll be 2011 and we can all start looking forward to new adventures, new anthro goodies (well not the current offerings but even newer more exciting ones!) and for me personally I look forward to spring as Nov-Feb in the UK is always cold, grey and sometimes snowy. Once I see the snowdrops, bluebells and daffodils poking through the soil I start to get really excited for spring and summer :)

  6. You made the right choice in keeping the dress. It looks great on you, especially with the boots and belt---so cute!
And I get you on feeling blue about the drudge of the day to day. I"m a mommy too and sometimes I just want to run away and be someone else for a day or two.
    :)

  7. I love the dress with the tights and bootie combo! It is hard coping with sick children and not sleeping! I hope tonight is a better night for you. I always think this time of year is depressing anyway with the sun setting so early.
