Openwork Vines

I'm in a very bad mood today. I guess I should have seen it coming - Monday after a holiday and all. I just hate everything. I ate too much junk food and soft drinks over the weekend, so I feel fat! I hate not having anything new to wear. I know I should embrace the nice things I already have, but today I don't feel like it! I tried on my Christmas party outfit tonight, and I don't really love it. I know these problems are miniscule compared to what some people in the world are going through. I get that, and I'm thankful for what I do have, but sometimes you just need to complain.

Ok, now that's out of the way... I am wearing a piece that I haven't worn in awhile, the Openwork Vines Skirt. I just don't reach for this one often. I think it's the high waist. It really limits what can be worn with this skirt. I think this tank and cardigan combination work, though. Even my photoshoot was very uninspired tonight. Most of the photos my husband took were blurry. These were the only decent one's in the bunch. Oh well, at least we got something. Now that I've depressed all of you, I will say goodnight. Hopefully, I will be in a better mood tomorrow. I'm trying to be optimistic....

  2. Your skirt looks great on you!

I know how you feel about feeling yucky after the holidays. I feel it, too. I'm totally detoxing this week. I haven't drank as many diet cokes in I can't remember how long!!!

  3. I hope you feel better tomorrow. I feel the same way...ate way too much! But you look great as usual.

I finally bought the Frye Paige Riding boot in the tan leather...love love love. I got a 1/2 size smaller like you suggested but the heel slips off every time I walk. Does that happen to you? I wonder if I should go a full size smaller? I feel like I can't going any smaller cause my feet seems to fit fine. And do you treat your boots with anything....they always look so clean.

  4. I overdid the junk food this weekend too. Blech! Hate that feeling.
That skirt looks awesome on you! You really do look beautiful.
The upside of not buying new things is that you are forced to be creative with more limited materials. Think "Project Runway". Creativity comes usually from limits. Once you detox, it'll be more fun to exercise your creativity muscles. :)

  5. You're a pretty girl, so you look great. Even if you don't think so! I've decided that most of the time when I'm down, it's just chemicals. Bad chemicals, which will pass. Hope you feel better tomorrow!

  7. it's detox central here too. Drank my green juice tonight made of fennel, spinach, cucumber, ginger - blah - but it's good for me. I'd rather be back to eating dips and pie and the like! I love that skirt- it is primo on you - but should you like to donate it, let me know and I'll send you my address!

  8. Oooh Bonnie I really like that skirt, I don't remember seeing it before. It is nice having lots of new things to play around with but you must have some dead-cert old favourites you can wear to for a pick me up?

  10. Haha, Peggy, I was thinking the same thing! When you get sick of that skirt, Bonnie. Just kidding. (No. I'm not.)

  11. Sounds like great minds think alike, because I was thinking, "I'd buy that skirt off you if you're sick of it...."

Hope you're happier today - being in Canada, we have our Thanksgiving in October, which gives me enough time to shake the 'bad food blues' - I've always thought you guys have it hard, cramming turkey day and Christmas shopping soooo close together!

  13. That skirt looks amazing on you! I am having serious wardrobe envy. I see all these people doing Kendi's 30 for 30 and shed a tear as my wardrobe doesn't consist of much more than 30 pieces. My whole life is about remixing as my budget just won't allow it :)

  14. Ooh I haven't seen that skirt in the bloggy world for a long time now. Glad you pulled it out and indulged us with it. I missed out on it...it looks fantastic on you!

  15. Thanks for all your comments ladies!

Annie: My heel slides a little too. It is worse in the Saddle pair. I even got a blister on my heel when I first wore them because of it. However, I don't think I could go any smaller or my foot wouldn't go in! The heel sliding doesn't seem to bother me as much anymore. I haven't done a thing to my boots yet! My saddle one's need some help. My blue jeans have bled onto them. My husband was saying I could just polish them up and the blue would come out. I'm scared! I don't know what to polish them with!
