"Bag lady, you gonna hurt your back dragging all them bags like that. I guess nobody ever told you all you must hold on to is you, is you, is you." - Erykah Badu
Yet another old dress. I haven't worn this one in years. It's a little big on me, but I did my best to make it work. I would have usually chosen a fitted cardigan to wear over a dress this long and flowy, but I went for a more relaxed look with this outfit. If nothing else it was comfortable. I call this my "bag lady chic" look.
After this weekend, I'm feeling alot of empathy for the homeless. Due to the Hurricane, our power was out for a day and a half. It was miserable! I couldn't take anymore at one point and went riding around during the storm. It looked like a war zone. There were trees and power lines down everywhere. I felt pretty bad for complaining about the power being out when I saw how bad some people had it. Still, I was a happy camper when the lights came back on. I'll never take electricity for granted again!
I had a really good therapy session today. I'm learning to let go of my past and take control of my future. It feels good to let go of that baggage and live life on my own terms. This is my last week staying with my children at my former home. Next time they will come to my apartment to stay. I spent alot of the weekend indoors getting their room ready. Even though I'm anxious about the change, it will feel good to stop living out of a suitcase and finally have a place to call home.
